With more than two decades of communications experience, Beth Ling offers nonprofits a broad set of skills and expertise to her role as the vice president of communications for The Compass Group. In this position she is responsible for marketing the company while also providing strategic communications to support the fundraising and sustainability efforts of our clients.

Prior to joining Compass, Beth was Vice President, Corporate Communications and Public Relations for CareSource, a $12 billion nonprofit managed care organization. In this position she led internal and external communications for the mission-driven organization that serves low-income individuals with quality healthcare and innovations to address social determinants of health, such as food and housing. She directed public relations activities across 12 states, led communications for the foundation, and provided strategic leadership for the brand. During her time with CareSource she was honored as the Communicator of the Year by the Dayton Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and selected for the Leadership Dayton program. Beth also spent 13 years as the Director of Public Relations for Interbrand Design Forum, a leading retail brand and design consultancy. In this position she led media relations, supported business development, and created collateral and thought leadership content. Beth’s experience also includes working as an account executive for PR agency Edward Howard & Co. and leading communications for the Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.

She serves on the board of directors and executive committee for Brigid’s Path, which is an addiction recovery center for infants. Additionally, Beth is the longtime president of the Notre Dame Club of Dayton, a local extension of the university’s alumni association where she oversees the organization’s $2.5 million scholarship fund for students in southwest Ohio. She also served six years on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters after being a Big Sister volunteer throughout college.

Beth earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame where she majored in marketing with a minor in communications.
