Reid Crawford has more than 25 years of success in development, advancement, and external affairs, providing fundraising guidance and assistance to nonprofits in the educational, cultural, and health sectors. He has worked with numerous organizations, offering capital campaign management, major gift fundraising, and strategic planning services.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Reid served as vice president for university advancement for the University of Maryland, College Park. During his tenure, he implemented the university’s first organized, comprehensive campaign, generating more than $350 million for capital, endowment, and scholarship priorities. Preceding Maryland, Reid worked in various capacities for Iowa State University including university legal advisor, chief of staff, legislative liaison, and vice president for external affairs, supervising the activities of several major university units and an annual budget of $22 + million.
Reid’s service-oriented leadership also includes membership in the 100-member Iowa House of Representatives between 1973 and 1981. During this time, Reid chaired a major standing committee and represented a district of 28,000 constituents.
Reid earned a Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from Iowa State University.
